Google using Analytics data for their SERPS

I had a quick question about google practices...

Do they use your analytics data for their own benefit (use the data as part of their forumla for SERPS)?

I know they use CTR of its search results...but can they use YOUR data? Isn't that bad practice? It is MY data of my own personal site...

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

you can't really provide evidence of anything Google does. they do whatever they want and they reserve the right to do.

But IMHO, Google analytic is too simple for google to go by it for SERPs. It's really by you google has more and better data about your site that they are not telling you in the analytics. That is just a front end report for your information.

It may be possible that google may utilize tha anlytics data but you cant prove it with evidence.

Even if you do so, they reserve the right to do so as per the terms and conditions they have at their website.

When you say serps, Google does not alter your results based on click thru rate, conversion rate or anything like that. Now on the ppc side, that is changed by click thru rate and a few others. And with Google's new Conversion Optimizer, your conversion rate can change your ppc positioning.

you can't be sure about... its totally algorithmic..

Whether you say yes or no to this question is purely a matter of opinion. I would say they do, I would if I made a search engine.

Google knows more about you than you know about you.

What they for sure use is the CTR in the SERPs, propaply something keyword related and maybe depth and length of the visit.

I am not sure where you all are getting this from. Just because they do this for Google Adwords, doesn't mean they do it for Google Search...

But, if they did, does that mean everyone is going to go out and try to improve their CTR and CR for their site? Everyone should have been doing this from the beginning...and should do it even if it doesn't count in Google Search.

Sorry for any confusion but I was specifically referring to the part that I quoted.... " Do they use your analytics data for their own benefit..."

I would think it very silly to consider that they might have provided this "service" for the benefit of the webmaster community. What was it... 30M for Urchin?
