Glad I found this site. I'm a newbie with SEO and am learning a lot from the posts here. Our site currently has little/no placement on Google and I'm trying to change that. I've been using the StarGeek crawler simulator to compare our site to some competitors and I'm noticing that for our competitors sites the simulator returns a page full of keywords and for ours it basically just returns the title and meta description. I've been working all day to modify the keywords and density, etc. but this hasn't ...

Hello, I don't own an I phone, I have a mac and the SDK installed. I want to develop an application which involves the calls protocol. So I need to simulate some standard calls (not internet-calls). Should I add an USB sim reader or something? Or any additional software? Or is this a too noob question and maybe the SDK already includes this capability? THanks! You can't test hardware related features in the simulator. Get an iPhone or an iPod Touch. There's plenty more reasons why. All serious testing must ...

i'm using a sqlite database in my app and need to take a peek at the sql db that's been moved to the sim when the app first runs. Whats the location of the sim files? Is this possible? tks john I'm pretty sure it retains the name of the file (based on the books example, on how you detect if you need to copy the db)...so maybe use spotlight to find all the copies of it on your machine? I took my own advice, and the only copy I have from one of my apps is in the project folder where I copied it to...maybe it ...

I know this has been mentioned a few times on the forum but it seems that there is no 'real' fix for this... so... I will try again! I used XCode a couple of days ago and it worked fine. I got my application code signed and uploaded to the Apple Store - not an easy task! I switched the MacBook off and relaxed for a couple of days, switch the MacBook back on and the Simulator no longer works... No old apps, no new apps, nothing! I tried clearing caches out. I checked security on Application Support folders ...

Is there a way to run a pre compiled app in the simulator? This would be an app I download not run. Thanks No, the simulator is an x86 OSX application and the "apps" act as plugins to it. The ones compiled for the iPhone are actually compiled ARM code so you can't run it on an x86 (not without an ARM emulator anyway). dbassett wrote: » Is there a way to run a pre compiled app in the simulator? Hope someone can help... So I've been working on getting my app ready for iOS 4 and iPhone 4. Installed the latest Xcode and SDK and have been tweaking out graphics, etc. All is working flawlessly except I'm having problems running the app on the iPad simulator. I don't have an actual iPad to test. My app uses an ABUnknownPersonViewController and it crashes when I tap "Create new contact", but WORKS FINE if I tap "Add to Existing Contact". Very strange!! I get the following in the console when the app ...

Hey Guys, I just ordered my iPhone 4 today and it should be coming to my home shortly. I know that it uses a micro-sim, but does anyone know if I can put that card in an adapter and then use it with my iPhone 3G? I am going to keep it around for testing my apps and want to be able to connect to AT&T cell towers with it if necessary. Thanks! wheli wrote: » Pretty much because it is a better way to test than using the simulator. If my application runs great on an iPhone 4 and the simulator, but crawls on ...

I'd never touched NSDate's until last night but everything seemed to go ok, and it worked in the simulator fine. Today i come to test something on the device and i keep getting a <invalid CFStringRef> error when assigning the date formatter to endDate and i can't for the life of me figure out why. Here is what im using at the moment: NSDate *dateNow = [NSDate date]; NSDateFormatter *dateFormat = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; [dateFormat setDateFormat:@"yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm"]; [dateFormat ...

I managed to install the iOS sim version 4.3 from XCode->Preferences->Downloads.. but how to get older ones like iPhone 3.2, iPad 3.2 and so on??? I tried google, but nothing. Can anyone help? dljeffery wrote: » You might need to install an older version of Xcode. Though I'm not sure if that's even possible, if you're running Lion. At any rate, some recent article (linked to by someone on the forums recently) stated that only 5% of users were running anything older than iOS 4.2. I think that ...

Hello All, I could use a little help with the iPhone simulator not providing any location information. I have followed dozens of corelocation tutorials and get consistent results, when the iPhone simulator launches the corelocation calls time out with an error, location not found. I have used the Apple LocateMe app and it does the same thing. I am running iPhone Simulator 4.2, SDK 3.2.5, on an iMac 27 running OS X 10.6.5. I have run the Safari inside the iPhone simulator and am able to connect to websites ...
