Hi. I am sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it anywhere using the search tool I have tried searching for this and can't seem to get an answer. I am trying to set up my droid to get email from my wowway.com account. But I can't get it past the "checking incoming server settings" screen. It repeatedly gives the message, "Unable to open connection to server. I have tried the few things I could find on google but nothing is working. Any help resolving this would be appreciated. Thanking ...

Just got the phone, and I no sooner setup my yahoo email acct and transferred the contacts and i was hacked! 2 emails were sent from my address to most of my contacts including myself. I only opened one of them and it was a spam ad for Canadian discount drugs. Some of my friends wern't happy. What did I do wrong? How can I avoid this? I immediately deleted my Yahoo acct ad haven't had any problem since, I'm afraid to use my email now. What to do? Just because it happened at the same time I wouldn't assume ...

I am not a Luddite and I am not an "early adopter". I own a netbook, two laptops, one desktop, two GPS (Car and hiking), a cell phone (Motorola E815), and a Wilson Electronics Direct Connect antenna amp. I am a Verizon customer, because, short of using a satellite phone, it gives me voice signal in the most places. (Often remote areas in Western States.) My question is a simple one. Is there any good reason, other than tech curiosity, that I should be shopping for a smart phone? I'm trying to NOT be swept ...

(Apologies of this question has been asked before; a cursory check didn't reveal a similar thread.) Ever since I first gained internet access in the late nineties, I realized whenever someone released a device which allowed that same access but through a handheld mobile product, I would be attached to that device day and night. Ten years later, and enter the smartphone (and my current iPhone 3G), and this is exactly what has happened. Probably 70% of my online time is conducted through my phone. But with ...

Am in US (ND) and am switching to Verizon this week. Have done quite a bit of research, including here since Jan. Now it's time to pull the trigger. Want smart phones for my wife and me. neither of us are very tech savvy, so simple may be better. I have been using a Blackberry and hate the clumsiness and slowness of it. My needs: phone, email, text, pics, web browse plus speed, speed, speed. I do travel a bit to big cities for work, always in US. My wife's needs: phone, pics, text, email, FB. she wants a ...

This is a review of MetaWatch smart watch: MetaWatch Shop - Bluetooth Connected Watches and Accessories "Smart watch" - a buzz word we have been hearing about for awhile now, promised by "big" companies as the next big thing. I have no idea when this promise going to become a reality, but I do know that MetaWatch came through with a product which is available now, has been shipping for awhile, has a very attractive design and reasonable price tag of $129 (Strata models), has a support of developers ...

What is this blinking picture of an eye that shows up when I read my email? Is someone spying on me? I guess it's something to do with the S4's eye-tracking software that is supposed to 'automatically' scroll as you read. My missus had a demo and claims this only works if you move your entire head, but she's an Apple-ite so is somewhat biased Quote: Originally Posted by SiempreTuna I guess it's something to do with the S4's eye-tracking software that is supposed to 'automatically' scroll as you read. I have a Windows Phone 7 smartphone. When I'm filling out a form using a phone application, some of the text areas will trigger useful little extras in my phone's on screen keyboard. For instance, entering an email address or website address usually brings up ".com", ".net" and other common suffixes as keyboard keys I can just tap and have the suffix appended. However, I've never seen these keys when filling out a websites HTML form. I imagine Android and iPhone keyboards have something similar, and I'm ...
