In building a 64-bit computer, is it worth it to upgrade to the new OS? I read so many places that so many 32-bit applications won't or can't even install on to that platform. In upgrading to x64, i think i will have the full effect of the 64-bit computing, but does that mean if i stick with windows XP Pro will still just be running at 32-bit and it's not worth getting a 64-bit cpu now? does anyone have a 64-bit that they run typical 32-bit applications with a hassle or am i dreaming? anyone? There ...

Hi Everybody I'm currently running a 64bit PC. I've installed (and come to depise) Windows XP 64 Bit. Fortunatley, its now completely fouled up beyond all recognition. When I try and start it, it tells me that a dll is missing (I can't remember exactly which, but thats because I don't care) Now I could fix this, but instead I've decided I want Linux back on my partition instead. My question is, which distro should I go for? Ultimately, I'm fairly new to Linux, having not used it extensively since ...
