Hi guys I know the DNS nameserver is intended to resolve a IP for a host in th network. how come a windows domain can be identified by a DNS? that means a windows domain should be identified by an IP? if yes, then the domain controller has an IP, a windows domain has an IP, this domain controller will have two IPs. I am confused. please help! The domain controller does not need two IP addresses. You are definitely confused. A Windows Domain needs two things to function properly. One is a Domain Controller. ...

I'm trying to develop a small app that can receive UDP data on a certain port. I've read http://www.anddev.org/udp-networking_-_ ... -t280.html, but this happens within the emulator for both client and server. I'm trying to send data from my PC to the emulator, and it doesn't seem to get as far as the emulator (it's hard to tell for sure) I have the following very primitive code running in the emulator: Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ] Can anyone help me with this? Is there some way to monitor what data is ...

Hey, My name is Saad Malik. I am soon to launch a free and reliable image hosting website for people to use. I haven't bought the domain yet because I am still not sure of the name, but that's not the problem. I found a nice script that I liked and was testing it out on my server. The problem that I am having is that when I upload a picture, it doesn't show it's thumbnail (which it should) and the links that come up for it dont work. Check it out at http://maliknetwork.com/imagehost/. I would really ...

I am still having a problem compiling Apache on Ubuntu Server 6.06 LTS. I can solve THIS problem at least by installing Perl 5.8.8 from source -- but I don't know which directories to use so that it will completely overwrite the old Perl. Do I have to install or move all my existing Perl modules after the upgrade to 5.8.8? I ask this because when I upgraded to 5.8.8 from source, I discovered that nothing that even TOUCHED Perl worked anymore. I had to wipe the whole machine and start over! I'm to the point ...

Hi, I have an NSMutableArray that stores custom class "Person" objects. "Person" is a subclass of NSObject, and has several ivars of types NSString, NSObject, NSNumber, etc. Every time I add a Person to the array, I release it because the array is retaining it. When I do this, the dealloc method in my Person object writes a little "Person object being released" to the console. So far, so good. However, when I release the array, I don't see any indication in the console that it is releasing the Person ...

Hi, I'm having a strange problem with the <ol> tag. If I have an ordered list and an image aligned to the left, the numbers in the ordered list show up under the image. Anybody have any suggestions? I tried putting the list in it's own table, which works fine, but I'd rather have the text wrap around the image. Thanks! See code below: <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="0" ALIGN="left"> <TR> <TD ALIGN="Center" VALIGN="top" > <img scr="" width="350" height="250" border="1"> </TD> <td ...

Hi there, hope this is a very simple question. If I were to have a block of code as below [[self view] addSubview:[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"background.png"]]]; would I need to release anything? If I break it down and do things line by line I would release the UIImageView after I was done with it (BUT not the image, something that took me hours to bug fix two nights back), but I'm unsure if anything needs to be released due to everything being inline. I know the rule is ...

I'm using an orientation check to trigger a method that plays a sound. It works fine, but I get warnings on the method calls.
