Good morning, I am attempting to build my first CSS site, but I am having trouble with a few things: 1) I cannot get rid of the blank space at the bottom of the page and 2) I cannot get my movie (at very top of page) to play after the rest of the page has loaded. Is anyone willing to take a look at my code and assist in cleaning it up? I'm sure I have made a few errors... Here is the code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html> <head> ...

Powrrock.com is my on going project to create an online music community for local musicians. Naturally, its near impossible for me to do this whole thing alone and would be a great project for anyone looking to make a portfolio. I need help with: - fixing up the template (a free one off of clantemplates.com) - Some basic photoshop editing, changing buttons. I know, I know, no one likes to do it, but it has to be done. - fixing up the forums (phpbb) I have them kinda completed, but they could use some work ...

Okay, I'm a total newbie, so lets get that out of the way. I'm doing a website for someone and thanks to gotoandlearn.com I have successfully created a popup page for the user to enter the usual name/email/phone information, along with a choice between two radio buttons, and then select one or more check boxes. The idea behind the page is for the user to provide their contact information and to select the topics they would like to receive more information about. Here is the Flash script: Â Â <?PHP Â $to ...

This is another issue I am facing at the moment. I am developing a site for a class project with a scrollable div on each page. On one of the pages the stuff in the content div ( <div id="content"> ) is extra long. I was wondering if there was a way to print just the div. This is an offshoot of the iframe problem i was facing earlier, but iframes are not allowed in XHTML. hence I'm using the div. If it makes any difference, I am not using the z-index property in the style sheet for the content div. Thanks ...

I have the opportunity to go to college for almost free. I might have to pay for books. It'd be for an associates degree in web design, and take probably 2 years to complete. It looks like a decent program. Of course the other option is to teach myself, at home. I assume I'll be doing lots of that even if I go to college. What did you do? Any advice? How worthwhile is a college education in this field (especially if one plans to freelance)? Thanks I'm actually working toward my associate's right now at a ...

I need help. I was going to start classes with The Art Institute which give you a diploma after 2 years of part time school. THe course costs about $12,000. Now I see some colleges that give you a certificate that are way less. I don't want to waste my money or time. What is required to actually make website or possibly work for a company managing their website. I don't want to go overboard. Thanks for your input. From what I've seen (and this may just be the area I live in, the specific schools) it seems ...
