My friend claims his father has fixed several corrupt hard drives by throwing them in a freezer for a month. A normal freezer, and no special freezer bag, just plop them right in. I just want to hear you comments on this If it's old enough to lock up like that the system is probably due for an update anyway, it works but I would only do it to get my data to another drive. Sounds sketchy. Sort of like kicking your computer when it doesn't work properly. http://www.meetmyattorney.com/slink/mt- ... 00275.html ...

I have some HD's that I used in a PC that had a faulty power supply. Both the PC (and even my Mac) recognise the HD's, can format them, etc. BUT when they are formatted and then Windows installed on them they won’t boot. So the drives were damaged somehow by the faulty power supply. I'm trying to find a way to repair them. Anyone have any ideas? Hard drives are extremely delicate pieces of hardware. You can't really just "repair it" like you can a cars transmission. If the hard drive is faulty and not ...

In the search for my new system I set many "standards" that I wanted in the system. SATA 3Gb/s was one of them. However, my favorite type of Hard Drive I like to use still hasn't released any native 3Gb/s sata drives. To its own defense it releases a roadmap which hails the 3Gb/s host controllers but says that any SATA150 drive will perform as fast as any SATA300 would. Mainly because any ATA style 7200rpm hard drive maxes out at 60MB/s. Having 4 SATA150 drives on a 4-port SATA300 host in raid 0 would show ...

I am taking a class in writing programs for the iPad, and there is a part in the instructions that ask's me to: "write a method of type integer (int) called "countNumeric". It's purpose is to count how many of the text fields contain numbers. You need to do the following: a- Enter the prototype in the "....Viewcontroller.h"file. -(int) countNumeric; b-Enter the framework in the "....Viewcontroller.m"file. -(int)countNumeric { } c- Within the framework, write the code to do the following -define a variable ...

Is reformating computer to a fresh start/factory state bad for it at all? No, it doesn't damage your computer in any way. The only bad thing is that you will loose any data/programs currently stored on the HDD. I would suggest burning any important information to a CD/DVD before going forward with the format. Ok. I tend to like to do it often, so i wanted to make sure. No, you should be fine. Obviously there is a point at which you will damage your HDD by continuously formatting your HDD but it requires a ...

Hi, about 30 min ago I go to text someone and I see a message that says my card is damaged and it asks me to reformat. I turn off the phone and removed the card and turned it back on and same thing. I tried a different card and that works. I googled my problem and it told me to use a card reader on my computer to save all my data. When I do that, the SD card doesn't come up. When I click on removable disk F: it says that it's not formatted and would I like to format and I don't so I click no. What ...

Umm, my question is that ive mailed a few private files and pictures and stuff to my email address because i was changing my computer so i would download those files on my other computer. Hi, I am working on a new website project for Farm Shop. I have uploaded template design. Any feedback on the design would be great. thanks... The layout and colours are good - it's hard to tell how effective it will be without seeing the actual content - call to action etc. Just one observation - I guess it would depend on who you are aiming the site at - if you are trying to get farmers to bring their beef to the butcher, then leave the picture of the cows. BUT - if you are trying to get people to come ...
