As most of you already know, several years back Mozilla developed one of the first open source web browsers. But most people don't even know what that is. In the simplest terminology: open source means that the source is open for public use. One of the most useful and barely touched features of FF is the ability to openly configure operational settings that most browsers hard code when compiled. I am going to briefly present you with some healthy reconfigurations that may speed up your browsing experience. ...

The site I work on is undergoing a redesign. As the company's SEO, I'm pretty deeply involved in the process in order to get the most bang for our buck, SEO-wise. I suppose it's about 50% complete now. Then my boss says to me, why don't we leave the site as it is and put the redesigned site under a different domain name. Then I kinda felt sick for a while thinking of all the bad things that could happen. After the nausea subsided and rational thought returned, I started to think of a few good points, but I ...

Right I have a new client, and I have designed the site. I am waiting for the all clear to go ahead and code it or tweak the design if needed What do you guys think Image might take a minute to load. Images are crappy ones i had to work with for design and dummy text is well... dummy text:D It's very nice - nice simple layout, no gratuitous rounded corners, and good content layout and contrast. I have no criticism what is YMMV?? lol notbanksy, on Apr 11 2008, 00:35, said: It's very nice - nice simple ...

Hello there, I have recently revamped my site www.hashe.com Please take a look and let me know of your thoughts It's ok but a bit too old-school. Don't really like that guy with the laptop:he's using too much space.I'd just put the laptop and make it bigger. The icons should be more shiny/modern/cool. Depends on your target audience. It's a good website just a bit too boring for me. Good website. Your theme is corporate. Very nice design, clean and clear. To the above post, I'll kill myself when the day ...

hi I'm new to web design, but so far I've managed to lay out a site that looks okay, but it lacks a nav-bar. as of now I'm using links divided by vertical lines, but it looks tacky to me. any tips? You might want to give us a link so we know what you're talking about. I'm not sure if it would be allowed to link directly, if it has the word "fag" in it. I use it pretty gratuitously, seeing as it's my alias in a game. edit: my alias contains the word "fag" I see you're using CuteNews (a PHP script) to render ...

Hello, how can I get Google Toolbar into Chrome ? any official script ? I am not sure if there's already a Google Toolbar for Google Chrome. The last time I checked, they still don't have Google toolbar on chrome. But I saw a post regarding some tricks on how to get a similar result without using the said add-ons or extensions. Check it out for yourself: http://www.chromeplugins.org/google/...chrome-50.html All those bits and bobs would probably slow Chrome down and it of course lives to be super fast. I ...

This sounds really good even though i don't use Chrome. lol Quote: Google Chrome 12 is now the stable release of Google’s web browser, bringing several improvements in security, privacy and graphics capabilities. Chrome now checks downloaded files for malware, and Google claims it has designed the feature in such a way that it doesn’t have to know which URLs you visited or which files you downloaded to be able to detect malicious files. You can now also fine tune the data that websites store on your ...

Hello, Just wondering if there is a Google toolbar for GOOGLE CHROME BROWSER?? If yes? where can I find it? Thank You Zirconian I don't think you need a toolbar for Google Chrome. You write what you're interested in searching for in the address-bar... it's as simple as that! My purpose in google toolbar is the Page rank features. No hassle you can identify what's the PR of a page. I guess it's not yet available. I've tried to search it from google, but failed to find any. No, there is no Google Toolbar for ...

Did Google's Chrome browser just become the globe's most popular? That's what StatCounter is reporting. It says Chrome topped Internet Explorer 8 in the last week of November, when Chrome took 23.6% of the global market and IE8 took 23.5%. Of course, if you combine all of the versions of Internet Explorer, it's still the browser champ. And in the United States, Internet Explorer is still on top, with 27% of the market. So what's driving the growth? Aodhan Cullen, chief executive of StatCounter, says ...

Chrome and Firefox..for what will you vote? It came to my attention that if you’re using explorer than in Google page Chrome advertisement appears. But if you’re using Firefox, no advertisement. Is Google supporting Firefox and open source? If so, why have they developed Google Chrome? My vote is for chrome as it is very fast and stable. Still Google is doing alot to beta release testing all around the places and when they launch it, it will be the best one ever. My choice is Firefox, just because ...

Password Management Every browser released in the last decade has some sort of password management system, and Google Chrome is no different. Any time a password is saved, you’re first prompted with the save password bar. In Chrome, this feature is called Password Manager. It is responsible for a lot of stuff, but what we really care about whether these passwords and web logins are well protected and the best way would be to password protect the whole Google Chrome folder with its contents: cookies, ...

Anybody else having troubles with Google Chrome? It must have automatically updated on me. It really sucks now. won't even load any websites and when it does load them half of them are all out of alignment and what not. Very frustrating. Anybody else have problems with it? Yea, I'm using Chrome to do all my dropping since FF has went into the toilet on their latest update to 3.5 FireFox version 2.0.0.20 is the best. I hate whenever they update their software. I swear it makes it worse. I am gonna try to ...

Is there seriously no toolbar for Chrome browser that can show the Page rank? I've searched for hours and just cannot find anything... Only bookmarks that simulate a page rank tool... but not a toolbar... Why on earth would Google bring out a browser which doesn't include their page rank toolbar? Chrome is still in beta and you can't add a toolbar into it, IMO. I think you need to use firefox That can be your last hope. You can create a bookmarklet and add it to your bookmarks... this way you are only ever ...

http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ Go to that website and copy & paste the following URL into the "Enter URL to diagnose" box: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/ I'm somewhat concerned. How can Blizzard get by with such a massive page? Personally, I'm getting the feeling that this analyzer overexaggerates load times. For me, their site should load in approximately 15 seconds, but even after clearing my cache it loads completely within 4-5. I need some opinions on the subject. I've made the ...

To me, a website that doesn't fill the screen should be centered. It just seem logical. However a client of mine wants it aligned to the top-left. Is there any argument (apart from aesthetics) that gives preference to a centered site rather than a top-left aligned one (or vice versa) Thank you! I think it depends on the design, just because it doesn't fill the screen it doesn't mean that it should be centred. If the design looks better in the center then so be it, but if the client wants it top left you ...

I'm still loyal to the Apple store but check out this bit of news. Quote: Google’s Chrome Web Store just made its worldwide debut in 41 languages. The Chrome Web Store is Google’s attempt to recreate the experience of Apple’s App Store for the web. It allows users to download and install web-based applications through the Chrome web browser with modern web technology such as HTML5. Since its launch in December, Google’s web-based app store has only been available in the U.S. Wednesday at the ...

Google Chrome vulnerable to carpet-bombing flaw Posted by Ryan Naraine September 2nd, 2008 Quote: Google’s shiny new Web browser is vulnerable to a carpet-bombing vulnerability that could expose Windows users to malicious hacker attacks. Just hours after the release of Google Chrome, researcher Aviv Raff discovered that he could combine two vulnerabilities — a flaw in Apple Safari (WebKit) and a Java bug discussed at this year’s Black Hat conference — to trick users into launching executables ...
