it seems santander are now charging for "overseas transactions" this applies to certain apps on the market. for instance i have bought a few apps over the past couple of days for £0.62...bargain, until santander also charge you £1.25 for the overseas trans action. How can you distinguish, which are uk or us apps as they are all listed in GBP? apparrantly, if the cost of the app has this symbol ~ before the price then the price has been converted from another currency and so is unlikely to be from the ...

Hi, I am in the process of incorporating a UK Limited company primarily for selling iOS and Mac apps. I've contacted the iTunes payments team and they seem to imply that you will receive payments from various international regions. Does anyone have any recommendations for UK based business banking accounts with low fees for such international payments? Many thanks. I was about to ask exactly the same question! From what I've read, payments are made using SWIFT so it would be great to hear people's ...

Hi Guys, Does anyone have experience filling in these iTunes Connect Bank and Tax info as a UK resident? I have heard differing opinions on filling out the tax form. One posting I read said that you need to fill out an SS4 form, then make an international call to the IRS in the US, after which they will give you an EIN (whatever that is!) after which you can fill out a "W-8BEN" form. Sounds complicated! However, another posting suggests that you: Enter nine zeros (000000000) in the space provided in ...

Hey Everyone. Now i'm sure those of us in the UK have noticed that banks are sometimes charging a one of fee and a currency conversion rate when we buy the apps on Credit / Debit cards. I couldn't find a definitive list of bank charges so I thought i would ask you lot. Please reply as follows (i think these are correct!) Halifax Visa Debit - £1.50 + £2.75% this will include the one off charge and the conversion premium. If there is none then Barclays Visa Debit - £0 + 0% I would like to see who ...

Checking my bank account (Halifax), I seem to have been charged a transaction fee for apps that I have bought on the market, about £1 each time, can any one else confirm they also get an extra charge for purchasing apps? In the UK, would be good to see if this is country specific! No extra fees for me in the US. Just curious, is it for apps that you just purchased in the past day or 2? If you used a debit card it could just be a temporary hold. A lot of places will do that. It should go away in a few ...

Hi all, In the UK, I have a Limited company and is VAT registered. 1) What do I have to do in terms of tax to be paid correctly in each territory? I've heard about an EIN form to send to the US IRS, but not other countries. 2) As a vat registered company, you charge 15% vat on all sales. Does that mean that for a £1 app, minus 30p apple = 70p you then have to deduct vat too? i.e. apple don't pay you 70p + vat 3) My business bank account is a bit of a pain with international transfers and i'm worried ...

Currently I'm developing a little word game where you can earn points by matching correct word pairs with each other. Now the client has asked me if it's possible to collect the scores that the user earns and send them via internet to a server. The most important here is that it has to be absolutely secure; my app, and my app only, must be able to submit scores to this server. I know that I can send data using HTTP in an iPhone app, but I don't know how to do this failproof. Do you have any ideas? Perhaps ...
