I'm not sure what happened, either a game I was playing or some software I installed, but my voice and audio stopped working in Windows XP Pro. I managed to get my sound working again by unchecking "digital sound only", but my voice still doesn't work. I have an onboard Realtek Azalia ALC888. After the problem started occuring, I installed brand new Realtek drivers. I installed them properly and the sound works great, it detects when I plugin my mic, but again, still no voice. I'm not sure if I properly ...

I have an old Compaq Presario CDS 633, 66mhz... it had a Realtek RTL8019 PnP LAN network, but it doesn't work now that I have Windows 98 installed on it. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find an AGP ethernet network card that would be compatible with Windows 98. I've been looking eveyrwhere but all I can ever find is AGP Graphic cards. I was going to post the first reply asking him if he really meant AGP but I did not want to look like a tit if there are such products. If there are I bet it would ...

Install a new PCI Adapter (DFE-530TX+ ) and could not get windows to load the drivers. Updated drivers (DLKRTS.SYS) but system would reflect that change (date/version was checked) so I copied from floppy the new driver and replaced dlkrts.sys. Now system is in Blue screen mode with stoperror C0000265 Driver Entry Point Not Found. Could not locate the entry point interlocked PopEntry Slist in driver ntoskrnl.exe. Tried console recovery mode but I am stuck. It appears I need to uninstall the PCI adapter and ...

I've been an avid admirer of Microsoft Windows for a couple of years now, and I have been using the OS without any actual problem that I can't fix myself. However, I've come a across a situation which has now forced me to use the Windows 7 beta release because I am not able to use windows XP, which I am most comfortable with. Let me explain why - The first OS i installed on my computer was Win XP SP2. When SP3 was released, I installed that one promptly. When Windows 7 Beta became available, I decided to ...

Howdy, I'm running XP Pro SP2 on a Compaq computer. The audio is RealTek AC 97. A couple weeks ago, I had to reformat and re-install the operating system. Now, in the soundcard recording controls, some of the options are missing.......all that shows up are "Line-in" , "microphone", and "CDPlayer", with the sliders and the select boxes. Before I re-installed XP, there was an option for "Stereo Mix" (or "What You Hear" ?) It's no longer there. I checked the options/properties, and "Stereo Mix" wasn't listed ...

Background: The sound was working perfectly fine up until something unknown happened. The volume wasn't high enough for my taste despite volume being set to highest, so I plugged in an external speaker. Nothing bad happened. After unplugging it, sound stopped altogether (now, sound won't play through either headphones or monitor speakers). I did play around with Realtek's Audio Configuration tool, but this should have nothing to do with the problem, since it's an apparently OS-independent problem. Besides, ...
