Hi, I'm looking to get t-mobile service. Does it make much of a difference if I buy an at&t s4 phone and unlock it, vs. using a t-mobile s4? I unlocked one at&t phone and it can make calls, but not use data on t-mobile. what gives? Can I use the hot spot feature on the at&t phone? Can I put a t-mobile ROM on the at&t phone? The difference between them often relates to which radio frequencies they support for data and which apn you use. Often in the past, AT&T phones didn't contain the compatibility to use ...

iphone-4-t-mobile-us.jpg The iPhone 4S has brought some of the best sales records in mobile carriers’ histories, but unfortunately for T-Mobile, it couldn’t participate in that success. In fact, T-Mobile actually lost nearly a million customers to other mobile carries last quarter. T-Mobile admitted that lacking the iPhone has something to do with the recent poor results. However, the carrier wants to change that as fast as possible… Electronista reports: “T-Mobile’s CTO Neville Ray used a ...

I'm shopping both T-mobile approved, and overseas options. For the overseas options, what should I be looking for as far as frequencies goes for T-mobiles 3g and 4g (ish) phones? If anybody has some suggestions on good phones that can be had for reasonable amounts, let me know. T-Mobile AWS 1700/2100 (different from normal 3G 2100) International 900 / 2100 However, T-Mobile is refarming their GSM 1900 to 3G so eventually 3G 850/900/1900/2100 quad-band phones should work with T-Mobile 3G. t-mobile-iphone4s.png According to CNET, the chief technology officer of T-Mobile Neville Ray believes that T-Mobile never carried the iPhone because of the "unique band of spectrum, known as AWS" that the carrier uses for its wireless network. As competitors have taken off with the iPhone, T-Mobile has been left in the dark. CEO Philip Humm even admitted today at the CES in Las Vegas that the company has been hit hard with the lack of the iPhone on its line-up. T-Mobile has shown interest in the star ...

T-Mobile, the nation’s 4th largest mobile carrier, has struggled to keep up with its top competitors, and the lack of Apple’s iPhone on their smartphone line-up certainly doesn’t help. However, has just announced that its network will be ready for the iPhone by the end of the year. T-Mobile is upgrading its 4G network to launch HSPA+ in the 1900 MHz band this year. This will definitely improve their service and make it compatible with our beloved iPhone. “As part of the company’s network ...

Greetings, I am considering purchasing a Android Phone on T-Mobiles monthly unlimited 4g. There exists some information from years ago about T-Mobile blocking tethering. Most of the information I was able to find was old and speculatory. My question is, This year of 2013 on 4g network. Does T-Mobile still block tethering? If so, What methods do they employ? Is it just common ports such as 80, 22, etc. Or do they have all Ports on the tethered PC blocked? I thank anyone for any effort made to respond. I ...

Is it possible to put a phone other than one of t-mobile's prepaid ones onto a t-mobile prepaid plan? And is it possible to put one of t-mobiles prepaid phones onto a different prepaid service? Anyone expect iPhone 4 to come out for T-mobile anytime soon? I mean, out of all four major carriers, T-Mobile gets left out, why? I understand that you can unlock an iPhone for T-Mobile, but it can't access the 3g/4g speeds, so it's only good for calls, but what's the point if you can get high speed data on it? I guess I can see why T-Mobile wouldn't get the iPhone because it's plan is relatively cheaper than the others. But does anyone else have any better idea of why T-Mobile hasn't gotten the iPhone? ...

I might have to upgrade soon due to my wife's phone having issues (she'll take my Galaxy S2) and I really don't want to settle on T-Mobile's 16 gig Galaxy S4. My current contract doesn't expire until this fall. I would like to get AT&T's 32 gig S4 unlocked and enable the HSPA+ AWS bands for T-Mobile's network. Has anyone tried this? I found this video, but some of the comments are not very encouraging. How to Enable T-Mobile HSPA+ AWS Bands on AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337/SGH-i337M! | GalaxyS4Root.com Quote: ...
