Hello all, Here to get some opinion on a site I just finished. Let me know what you think! There are still a few minor issues (that you probably will not even notice) that need to be tweaked out... but like I said, they are very small. Thanks for the input! http://www.bgclv.org anyone with slightly higher security settings will not be able to use the menu and as it looks like you are still working on it i wont mention that it has some overlapping issues. but it doesnt look as if you wrote the code. flash ...

I hope someone can help me with this problem... Code: <select> <option>first</option> <option>second</option> <option>third</option> </select> When I use the above in Netscape, Firefox, Mozilla, the drop down box does not change size when I increase or decrease the text size (i.e. using ctrl +/-). What happens is that the font size will increase, but the box will have a static height; thus, the text will get clipped. Is there a workaround without using javascript? A css trick perhaps? Thanks in advance. ...

ugh I don't get what I am doing wrong or how to fix it It looks perfect in IE but in firefox the nav headers are too far right and the content box is pushed right as well. http://www.shadowsmoon.com/ I thought it might be the tables used in the navigation but I made them all smaller. So here is my navigation code: /* Navigation */ #navigation { position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width:200px; text-align: left; background: url(images/bg2.jpg) repeat; } DIV#navigation { FLOAT: left; BORDER: #a2aab8 1px ...

Hello, I am building a site. I am having a problem when Font size is changed using the browser(Netscape). In IE, I don't have a problem when font size is changed from smallest to largest. But when I view the same site in Netscape, and use text zoom to anything more than 100%, my site format gets completely messed up. What is going on here? I am using Style for managing Fonts. Here's URL for the page... http://www.aditionline.com/portfolio/BMM/website/final/BMM_mandals.htm Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ...

Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with an issue that browsers give users. The option to hold ctrl and scroll your mousewheel up and down makes the text bigger or smaller. Is there anyway to lock this and the data within a table? If there is anyone who could help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Righty, in Firefox, it is still possible to change the font size using the old Ctrl and Mouse Wheel move. In IE however, if you set a element with a px font size, it will not move. Heres my code PHP: ...

I'm confused about using em vs. px for fonts, background and layout. What do you recommend? Pixels are absolute values, em is relative. Personally I've never found a reason to use em over px. Yes with the IE8 zooming capability I think using px is fine? It's really confusing I think I will use fixed font size for the navigation menu and percentage for the main content I think I always set a specific font size using pixels. Font size with ems is only useful if the layout itself is also ems. Setting a pixel ...

Why are my font sizes different on different platforms? I have created a poker site. It does not look like as it is as my web page font. Please tell me about this problem. It's not really a problem. In firefox, the text look clean but in IE the text seems to be bolded and a tad bit bigger. But anyhow, I had that for so long I think of it like it was supposed to be if it isn't. Are you talking about different platforms or different browsers. Because you must be sure that the user who is viewing your site ...

the text in this forum is really hard to read with my old eyes in 1024x768 res. i have no control over the resolution since i'm on a public library computer. you could make it easier to read by using em measurments in your text and images so the page would zoom in and out when people change the text size in their browser. one em equals 10 points or 16 pixels. <span style="font:0.80em;">your text</span> <img src="image" width="6.75em" height="6.75em" /> this method makes text and images easy to view no ...

Hi, I am using Yahoo SiteBuider that uses absolute position and fixed size for text boxes and span style for font size. Apparently, Firefox does not obey either since when I increase font size via View menu, texts grow and overlap with other objects. Is there a way to fix the overlapping? To make it more difficult, Y!SiteBuilder does not allow direct html edit. It only has a menu to add script before and after text box or into html head. The script for text box looks like this: <div id="e0" ...
