Does Google see content added to the DOM by JavaScript? Thats an interesting questions. I did a test on this - How much Javascript can search engines read? Wheter or not Javascript sees or even uses the DOM is up for debate. There is a lot of speculation that Google fairly recently restructured Googlebot with the use of Mozilla technology, which would effectively make it a modern web browser, ie it can see a lot of javascript. Previously search engine spiders have been quite old hat browser technology. ...

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anybody knows whether the google bot parses the DOM (Document Object Model) or does it just parse plain text/html when crawling? I have a hunch that it just parses text, but I just need confirmation. We have code that has a bunch of nested includes and naturally I want to set the title so that it matches the content. One way I thought about doing this is using the DOM (document.title = "New title yada yada ya") from the nested script, where the content is pulled from. ...

I'm designing a website which will have a large content of businesses on separated sites. Like each site would be something like: mydomain.dom/shoe-seller mydomain.dom/wilsons-fastfood mydomain.dom/flight-usa etc.. So what i'm thinking is, if those sites would get a better page rank if i added their separated URL into some SEO friendly business directory. By separate URL i mean i.e "mydomain.dom/wilsons-fastfood". So if people searched "wilsons fastfood" in Google, would it have a better page rank if it ...

Hello... i was asked from my university to create a project about getting the DOM or HTML from a user submited page on Perl or c++.... but I am free to use any language I want... the results etc wil be published with php of course.. I did a small search on google but couldnt find a lot of help... any tips, ideas etc? Do they submit it as in upload the page or submit a URI? If the latter, you'll have to do some interesting juggling. The best way would probably be to open the URI using PHP (with the fopen ...

Hi, I have 2 questions about duplicate content: I have a site that uses sub-domains for different territories. the content is 93% similar on each, would i be penalised for this? Each site is linked to the others and i have targeted each sub-dom geographically with google webmaster tools. Following on from this - The UK version of this site is on it's own domain. again the content is naturally very similar, but i link to the other sites. Will this cause a problem? can i get around this buy setting up the uk ...
