In Interface Builder, I've created a view (UIView) that has a table view (UITableView) in it. The class of File's Owner is set to a class I've made that is a subclass of UIViewController. I've implemented the UITableViewDelegate, and UITableViewSource protocols into this class, and populated the table with data. Everything is working fine up to this point. Where I'm stuck is that I want to add a 'pull to refresh' feature to the table, and am using this class: PullToRefresh. I used this class in a different ...

I'm putting together an application that has various content types. Each of these content types are unique, but they each have comments, and comments are all part of the same functionality. So what I would like to do is split my comments off into a separate class, so that they can be reused when/where necessary. I want to show comments using a flip view, where the comments are on the back side of the initial posting. So far I can do this when I set comments as a subview of the content type being used. I am ...

I have a couple of functions that will be used by various classes within the app that I'm building, for example one of them is a JSON parser that will be parsing returned data from a web service. As I am making calls to the web service from various classes, I want to define the parser in only one spot, rather than having to declare it in each class it's used. What I'm wondering is where to place these in my document structure. Right now, I have placed them in my SynapseAppDelegate class (Synapse is the ...

When I have labels that have dynamic heights, I need to adjust the height from the height set in IB, to the actual height. I read somewhere the other day that cellForRowAtIndexPath should only be used for entering the data into the cells. So I did this - I set the text value of my labels in cellForRowAtIndexPath. Then in heightForRowAtIndexPath, I tried changing the height of the label to the proper height for the text inside, and afterwards returning the proper height of the cell. I did this using the ...

Hi I need help with a problem that should be easy and I have no clue what's going wrong... I have a UITableView with a cell and a text field inside of that cell. I have the text of the textfield stored in an NSString called textField1. So my code looks like this when I set up the textfield in the cellForRowAtIndexPath method: textField.text = textField1; Now, I have it set up that so when the "Done" key is pressed on the keyboard while editing the text field, I create a new int and set textfield1 to this ...

I'm trying to create an NSInvocationOperation. The selector I am using is: logInUser:withPassword: This selector requires two arguments (username and password), however NSInvocationOperation only accepts one argument in the object. I have tried passing an array and a dictionary, but both of these throw up the errror: method 'logInUser:withPassword:' requires more than 1 argument How do I pass more than one argument to NSInvocationOperation? Here is my current code (that is giving the above error): ...

I'm confused as to why releasing an object is crashing my app. Here is my code: NSDictionary *returnedData; if (1 == 1) { returnedData = [jsonTopData objectForKey:@"#data"]; self.sessid = [returnedData objectForKey:@"sessid"]; self.label.text = self.sessid; } [returnedData release]; This obviously isn't my actual code, as I don't have 1==1 in my real code, but the conditional is irrelevant to the problem. Please just take it that the conditional is being executed, and returnedData is set inside the ...

Hello I'm a little confused on declaring variables for classes in Objective C. I am working my way through a book on iphone development, and I have found them declaring variables in three ways, but I'm not clear on exactly what method to use when. Method 1: Declare the variable in the @interface of the .h file AND use @property and @synthesize Method 2: Declare in the variable in the @interface of the .h file, but don't use either @property or @synthesize Method 3: Declare the variable in the ...

Hello I am currently studying iphone app development from the book iPhone SDK Development. In the book, I came across a line of code that has no explanation to go with it, and I'm a little confused as to how it works. The code is as follows: - (NSArray *)states { return [(StatesAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate] statesByPopulation]; } Here is the background on this line of code that hopefully can help you help me: * The project name is 'States' * This code is in the file ...

Until recently our site was in the TOP 20 for several extremely competative keywords, they are more or less a "STATUS SYMBOL" - because the harsh realities can really burst your bubble ... Factoring in the reality of Webmasters and SEOs surfing to keep track of their Google SERPs versus "Sincere Surfers" who surf and CLICK" on a result is the REAL SEO challenge... Apparenty, analyzing a couple of weeks worth of SOME of the Keyword queries to our site - shows that unique and intellegent queries are the real ...
