Hi, I'm using a Linksys wireless network in my house. I have an XP machine that used to connect perfectly fine through the USB wireless network adapter, but it recently stopped. When I called linksys, they had me try to repair the connection, but I got the error message "Unable to flush the ARP cache". So, they told me that it was an OS failuer, and that I had to call compaq. I called compaq but they told me that I had to pay $40 before they would even hear my problem. Any idea on how to fix this so I can ...

I'm trying to implement an arp -a call similar to this question: xcode - Get router mac (without system call for ARP) in Objective-C - Stack Overflow I was able to successfully get this function to run on the simulator. However, when I try to run it on my iPhone, my device does not recognize the following libraries: #include <net/if_types.h> #include <net/route.h> #include <netinet/if_ether.h> #include <nlist.h> I did some research and I came across this: ip address - Howto query arp table on iPhone? - ...

I know this sounds pretty vicious. But, how else can you tell if a person is a repeat user over a period of time? Their IP address will change. Their MAC address could change also, but far less frequently. So, I know if there is a computer on your network you can take the IP address and ping it. And then arp -a and get the physical or MAC address. So, isn't there some way a program behind a website could do the same? Once you aquire the IP address have a program on the site ping it and retrieve the other ...

This is a bit of a silly issue with XP Pro, Everytime I try to network my Xbox to the pc they connect fine. Both find each other, but the Xbox refuses to send anything to the pc. The really stupid thing is the message in the bubble "Xbox connected. Speed 100Mbs" while the network link reports "Xbox not connected" When I try to repair the link I either get the report that everything's fine or the very informative "Windows cannot clear the ARP Cache"! Now this I know relates to MAC addresses and packet ...

Hi, I'm Paul and I work for Prosper Learning. I would like to know if it is possible to clone a MAC address under WinXP Professional. I use a cable modem wich "knows " a MAC wich is different than the MAC of the computer I want to use, therefore it won't allow my computer in the network. Is there trick wich will allow my computer clone the other computer's MAC? So basically I need to change my computer's MAC in order to switch computers(Onboard NICs, by the way...), I think it is easier than reprogramming ...

Does anyone know of a way to get a clients MAC address, preferably using PHP, on a Win2k server? One way I thought of would be using the exec cmd to first ping the client, then using arp -a to get the MAC, but this is a little longwinded as I intend to use this on the company intranet with several hundred computers. Anyone have any better suggestions? I don't believe it's possible for privacy reasons (remember, each MAC ID corresponds to a unique NIC which usually means a unique computer...remember the ...
