Is there a way I can configure the email account to my Gmail to use a different email address? I have my own domain name (through godaddy) that uses email forwarding to send everything to my gmail account. In gmail itself, I have my account configured to use that domain name. But I don't see a way to have my phone use that address in the From line. Bump... 85 views, no replies. Surely someone else has this issue/desire? No dice stuntman. So this isn't exactly android specific, but it really helps if you use email on your android phone that isn't gmail. We all know the gmail app is better than the different stock emails apps that come with phones, so why not just utilise gmail for every email account you have? With the added benefit that you can also use the gmail desktop interface at your pc to manage all your email accounts.. Hi, I'm rather new to Android but slowly making progress. But here's a question that I haven't really found any clear answers. I have an LG Optimus One (Android 2.2), but I think this would be common to any phone... There is an EMail app, and a GMail app. (I think these are standard for Android?) Ok, so the GMail app is obvious for my GMail account. I want to also access my Hotmail and my Work (exchange) accounts, looks like for those, I have to use the EMail app. Well, I would rather use just one app for ...

Ive tried the stock app, k9 and aqua. I use Gmail and don't like any of those. If you only use Gmail then the official Gmail app is pretty good. If you have multiple accounts, MailDroid is the best in my opinion. The gmail official app is decent, didn't try MailDroid but my one concern about the stock email app is that it always replies from the account that is linked to it. For example: I run my hotmail account through gmail (i.e. anybody who emails me at my hotmail address, the email forwards thru gmail ...

I am using cammster.com as one of my security applications at home. it sends me an email when it detects motion. However, I cannnot seem to find a friendly app that will send am email immediately to my Sprint Hero. What free email program and app can I use that will send me an email when cammster sends it out, and notify me right away. I have tried a google account (gmail), but it seems to want to check for emails at predefined intervals when using the main email client (that I also use for a work ...

Let me start off by saying that I'm 100% new to Android as of last night. I switched from the iPhone 3G over to the Samsung Captivate. I like it a lot, but have a couple of questions about the email. I have a Gmail icon and I have an Email icon. Seeing that I use Gmail for my personal email, can I replace the Email icon on the home page with the Gmail icon? Also, if you are using Gmail, is there any point to have the Email app installed? Can I uninstall it? You can't uninstall it, but you can delete the ...

I have two email accounts. One I use professionally, as my dad hosts the website which it's linked to. One is a gmail account with a sillier name... let's just say that it has the word "douchebaggy" in it. I have it set up so that all email to my serious email account get forwarded into my gmail. However, I don't get them in the Gmail app. I opened the app and only have email sent directly to my silly email. This is an issue, because I need to see the emails from my other account too. When I opened up the ...

Otherwise loving my new Samsung Epic - but how could the Android email client (a google product) integrate so poorly with Gmail ??? My 3 GIANT issues : 1- The native email client does not observe who an email was sent to when responding like the gmail web client can. If I have secondary emails on my account it will not allow response as them.. 2- unlike the gmail web client, I can't select what secondary account to respond with. 3 - I am unable to add secondary email account to my android phone. requires ...

I have an S3 with Jelly Bean on :-) I have my 3 other email accounts in the email app, and mygGmail email account in the Gmail app. So can you add other non Gmail email accounts to the Gmail app so I can have all my email accounts in one app? The others I want to add are Hotmail, yahoo (Talk21), and a ISP Virgin one. Cheers Nope. That's why its called the GMAIL app. You can put your GMail in the default email app though and disable sync on the Gmail app. Quote: Originally Posted by chanchan05 Nope. That's ...

I have a corp email and a personal gmail account. I read both from my samsung epics email client. Both are using exchange. However, I need to sync with picasa google too. To do this it appears I must have two account entries in my account sync as the exchange google entry does not sync picasa anyways. If not confusing enough. i also have family google account for shared pics, videos and emails. I don't want that email account on my phones email client, but rather gmail. At some point and for some time I ...
