Sweet! Quote: When Microsoft’s Windows 8 arrives to a computer near you it will have Internet Explorer 10 in tow, and with that browser will come a “Do Not Track” feature that will automatically be turned on. The privacy tool, which was backed by the Federal Trade Commission earlier this year, enables internet users to indicate to websites that they don’t wish to have their browsing habits tracked. Mozilla’s Firefox browser and Yahoo have been early endorsers of the feature, and Twitter ...

Remember that some time ago I posted that Windows 7 would come with an optional rather than mandatory Internet Explorer in Europe? Well it just got better, after seeing that the UE was not impressed at all by such proposition, Microsoft would be offering users to pick a browser from a predefined list when installing W7. Did Google's Chrome browser just become the globe's most popular? That's what StatCounter is reporting. It says Chrome topped Internet Explorer 8 in the last week of November, when Chrome took 23.6% of the global market and IE8 took 23.5%. Of course, if you combine all of the versions of Internet Explorer, it's still the browser champ. And in the United States, Internet Explorer is still on top, with 27% of the market. So what's driving the growth? Aodhan Cullen, chief executive of StatCounter, says ...

Firefox is my favorite. What about you? Chrome and followed by FF For work I use FireFox, because it has a lot of essential plugins, and for personal use I prefer Chrome, cause it's the lighest and the fastest browser. Google chrome, I find it comfortable to use.... I've got a laptop (as my primary computer) which gets very excited and overheats at the slightest thing in the warm climate I live in. I find that Chrome is less of a resource hog than anything else. Google Chrome is my favorite. Chrome is ...

I have also tried installing other browsers such as Opera and Chrome. But even after trying that they none of them work ...

If this is in the wrong forum, I applogize in advance. I'm going to tell you something I did a while back and I know that many of you as developers will think this to be crazy.... So if you want to try it out yourself, but still think it maybe a crazy move.... Try a site you may have that you can "risk" or maybe don't care about. A while back I finally got completely tired of trying to fix, debug, and support Internet Explorer. I found myself no longer caring to try to make this 1 browser work, when all ...

With Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft showed Wednesday it's trying to retake the browser initiative. IE remains the Net's dominant browser. But perversely, it became something of a technology underdog after Microsoft vanquished Netscape in the browser wars of the 1990s and scaled back its browser effort. That left an opportunity for rivals to blossom -- most notably Firefox, which now is used by a quarter of Web surfers, but also Apple's Safari, which now runs on Windows as well as Mac OS X, and Google's ...

Good lord, i am using IE8 and love it, why would you want to use IE6 still? Now before you make a comment on IE6, check out this blog post. Quote: Web developers, designers and users rejoice: Internet Explorer 6 use is quickly on the decline. Even Microsoft, the company that released Internet Explorer 6 more than a decade ago, has joined in on the celebration. Quote: "Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we're in 2011, in an era of modern web standards, it's time to say goodbye," writes the company ...

I am, by no means, an expert web designer or developer. I am primarily a software engineer and work quite a lot on server-side code of web applications. But I've been wondering about this question for some time and I've tried to find somewhere appropriate to post this question as I'd like to see some discussion so I apologise if it is the wrong place. My parents have been running a business for almost 10 years and have recently asked me to redesign their website. I've been looking to build up my portfolio ...
