Hello experts, I am learning basic html/css now, and now I need help from you guys. I am trying to apply some gradient colors into my test page, and I want to ask if how can I add compatibility to Firefox, Chrome and IE9. I wanted to apply this background color gradient: -moz-linear-gradient(#333333, #222222) Actually there are a few amazing tools online that (while they add a little bulk to your css3 script) it ensures maximum cross-browser compatibility. www . gradients . glrzad . com (im apparently not ...

http://buy-proargi9.co.uk/ in my navagation i have made a white border, but my active item looks crap cus of the white border line underneath it :/ anybody got any clues how to put a image over the border or something ahh Rather than use "http://www.buy-proar...ages/arrow.png" as the background image you could place it within the anchor and physically position it -1px bottom but that is going to be very messy and will require some cross browser manipulation. Edit: Or break the box model by placing the ...

Hi team, almost finished my site, but got a few areas to finish off. Would appreciate any constructive feedback, both positive and negative. I would like to know what you think about the colors used, layout, functionality, etc. Please try to be as detailed and provide possible improvements on negative points. Thanks I think it looks great, but I'm not a fan of the changing banner. The first banner is the best of the lot in my opinion, I think it should be static. Also, not sure if it's Chrome having a ...

Hello, Since I am a novice in major Web Design work, your comments and advice would be of great help. Please take a look at the site and let me know your thoughts. I am currently making changes to the layout based on feedback from colleagues and friends, but they are not specialists in the field. I won't tell you what they complained about to prevent any bias. Feel tear everything apart(graphics, layout, navigation, menu structure, content, metatags). Thanks a lot. Tudor The main issues i see with the site ...

Hi So, I am designing a system for a photography company to allow their customers to go and view photo's online before purchasing them, and I have successfully prevented the image being copied in almost every way I can think possible, including right click / saving, using the source to find the original file (links to a imagehandle.php - which also prevents the image being stored in the ie cache), preventing the user from going directly to imagehandle.php etc, preventing image dragging... The only problem ...

Hi, I am trying to create a HTML Heading with dark text shadow. You can see such shadowed text on the bottom blue field of this site: http://www.seomoz.org/ Check the 3 white titles with black shadows: "Company" and "Popular Content" for instance... I would like to do something similar, compatible with IE, FF, CHROME and other browsers. So far I could not find a similar code... What I have found it completely different. Must be cross-browser compatible as well. I only found this for css2 and css3, but not ...

We have a new page (page a), with a PR of 0, which is solely selling blue shiney widgets, when searched for this page appears in position 2 in google. Blue shiney widgets are in all the onpage signals like H1, titles body copy etc. However one of our other pages (page b) which is more established page rank 3 has a small mention of the same same type of blue shiney widget term on the page in 2 places in the body copy only, but the main focus of the page is selling yellow widget connectors & these connect to ...

Hi all, Please review the website - http://www.neuroseoservices.com It looks great, I love the colour scheme. And all the Links work which is good. I love the christmas hat on the logo Christmas logo is really very nice. Hey, It's a pet hate of mine, but accessibility and SEO and becoming closer entwined. Search engines rewards good code. Therefore you should lead by example and stick some title tags on your hyperlinks and try viewing your website through a text based browser such as lynx. Also, I never ...

Is possible to access one flash's symbols and variables from another swf loaded within? For example: Quote: flash1.swf { -load flash2.swf -somesymbol.msg=""; } flash2.swf { (flash1.swf).somesymbol.msg="loaded message"; } Very respectfully, -clicky This information is required for an open source project on sourceforge.net and will hopefully become a great asset to the flash website development community. Hi, I update a file, but when I test my site the cached version of the file is present (i.e. the one I have just overwritten) + therefore I have to clear my browser cache in order to see the updated site. Does anyone know of a way around this – if I overwrite a file I do not want the cached version accessed. Thanks Welcome to the site! I kind of get the same thing I got told to flush my DNS so basically.. GO to start > Run >cmd When on the command prompt type in ipconfig then wait... when it has gave ...

I have a curious problem. I have an swf file that is trying to read an xml file from this server: demo.feedxi.com The full Url looks like this: http://demo.feedxi.com/Warm.xml?source=true&s=Test Search&w=google&w=yahoo&w=youtube&w=msn Now by, itself, the swf reads the xml file w/ no problem. It also reads the xml file fine if it's embedded in an html file and lives in the appropriate folder in my website directory. The problem is when I embed the file in the actual page of the program. I have the security ...

Hello, I am having a problem with a website that is mainly rollovers http://www.travelogue.ie/ As you can see once you scroll right and put your mouse over a silhouette a text story appears. My problem is that the client is reporting a blue line at the edge of the rollover (around the silhouette) AS far as I can see this is coming from the outline that I have mapped out for the rollover in fireworks. But it is not appearing on lower res. monitors (like mine 1200 x 768) only on her super high res monitor. ...

Hey there, I have been playing a game recently and parts of it are very repetitive. Thus, I am trying to create a two frame website with one frame being the game and the other frame being my macro short-cuts. Everything was going great until I hit a snag. Apparently, when I try to access the form on the other frame, access is being denied. By accessing, I mean change the value of a radio button and submit the form. I understand that there could be security implications with this and that is why the ...

Just wanted to pick a few of your brains on how far back should you optimize for browsers? I'll go as far back as IE7 in windows but I'm not sure about FFX or chrome. Any thoughts? How far back you go is simple cost/benefit. You use your analytics to see what your visitors are using. For browsers with very little traffic, you need to look at the conversion rate... what is the net profit produced for activities using a given browser. Then you look at the cost of maintaining support for that browser. If the ...

I've been interested in the Yahoo! sponsored ads but can't quite determine if they cross Search Engines. I've seen ads similarly styled (blue background across the top of the results page) on Google, but can't tell if those are Yahoo! generated or something else. The question is, will a search through Google show a Yahoo! sponsored ad? Thanks. Cayce Quote: The question is, will a search through Google show a Yahoo! sponsored ad? Nope.
