Within Windows Media Player 12 (Win 7 x64), I have checked "Stream > Automatically allow devices to play my media" Unfortunately, when I open up Media Share on the Droid X, and continue to the music folder, it doesn't show anything - instead it lists "no files found" Open Media Share -> Computer -> Play -> Next -> Next (DLNA) -> Next (allow remote playback stuff) -> Next (confirming we're connected to the same network) -> Then I go tot he All Music folder, and the Droid X says "No files to display" No ...

Hello, I would like to know whether exists some kind of UPnP or DNLA server app on Android which would allow an Android Device (name it "A") to serve as a receiver (once plugged to speakers of course). I'd like to be able to push music from a PC or another Android device to this "A" Android device. This would allow to transform normal speakers to DLNA audio receivers. If you want to enjoy multimedia files like movies, photos and music in your TV or any other dedicated media player with DLNA capability, you will need a DLNA server. The only requirement is to have access to the DLNA server so you can stream data. In order to do this, you will need a software to setup the DLNA server, like the Kooraroo dlna software. I'm using Orb/Orblive right now. It's not perfect but it's the best all-around solution I've found so far. Homepipe can do audio and video but ...

I'm sure I'm way behind the curve here, but I've had a WD TV Live for about a year, and have been access my videos on my FreeNAS (7.x) box via CIFS/SMB file sharing the whole time. Just recently I discovered that both devices support DLNA, and am in the process of discovering what DLNA can do for me. I've been using BubbleUPnP on my Nexus 7 to find videos on my FreeNAS box and play them on the WD TV Live. It would seem that the app is just a controller, telling WD TV Live what to play and where to get it ...

This DLNA thing is about to cause me to leap out a window. When I turn on DLNA, I can see all my sharing computers. I can see all the folders that are shared, Music, Pictures, Video, Playlists. I can browse Pictures, Video and even Playlists, but it will NOT open the Music folder. Opening it causes DLNA to eventually time out. Here's the kicker. If I put music in a playlist...pops right up. I'm thinking of putting all my music in a giant playlist. This may not be only a phone problem. PS3 does the same ...
